YOU MAY HAVE SEEN ME ON

I started the IMA programme having developed and increasing pot belly during and post covid whilst facing a decreasing my confidence as a result. Thankfully within a matter of weeks, I noticed several positive changes with my breathing improving significantly. My flexibility has also improved, as well as having a more positive outlook on the future. This was perfectly demonstrated by completing my first ever half Marathon, collecting £700 along the way for my favourite charity, a mere 14 weeks after commencing the IMA Method. If anyone ever told me this was possible, I would never have believed them.

- Rob from Hertfordshire

Since commencing the programme with Dave, I noticed improvements to my breathing and stamina after about three weeks and started to feel more agile and flexible, increasing the confidence in myself and my capabilities. Prior to joining the programme, I used to lose my weekly Badminton sessions to my 15 years younger nephew. I used to beat him in my 30’s but this changed in my early 40’s. Hah, Since the 8th week of the Method I have won every single game, using my newly found strength, agility and confidence. Bring it on...

- Stu from London

"I cant believe how amazing this exercise routine has been for me and my carer. I can do some of them on my own as can Dad. After that there's loads we can join in together. Loving it...The best bonus so far, a much better, deeper sleep, waking up raring to go, which I haven"t felt like in ages"

- Robbie from Brighton

I was desperate to find a health and fitness programme that met my needs, mainly to fit with my crazy long haulage hours. This programme fitted seamlessly with my on the road hybrid working arrangements. The instructions are super easy to follow. I feel so much better and can now jump out of the lorry seat rather than twisting and turning due to aches and pains, accompanied with a range of uncomfortable noises. My sleepings also improved which has always been a challenge for me. I would highly recommend this programme to other middle-aged men.

Testosterone After 40: Natural Ways to Protect Long-Term Health

Testosterone After 40: Natural Ways to Protect Long-Term Health

February 04, 20265 min read

As men pass 40, they may wonder if declining energy and strength are just part of aging or if testosterone can be naturally boosted, and how simple habits in nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management can protect long-term health. Making small, consistent changes in lifestyle can help men feel stronger, more energetic, and maintain their overall health well into later years.

In this blog, we will explore the natural decline of testosterone with age, the common symptoms men may experience, and practical ways to support healthier, more confident lives.

Age-Related Decline in Testosterone Levels

As men get older, their bodies naturally produce less testosterone. This is a normal part of aging and happens gradually over time. Testosterone is an important hormone that affects many parts of the body, including energy, strength, and overall health.

The decline usually starts around the age of 40 and can continue slowly each year. Men may not notice big changes at first, but over time, lower testosterone can affect how they feel and function day to day.

This decrease in testosterone is influenced by several factors such as age, lifestyle, stress, and overall health. Even though it is a natural process, it can have noticeable effects on the body and mind as men grow older.

Common Symptoms Associated With Declining Testosterone Levels

As testosterone levels drop, men may start noticing changes in their bodies. They might feel more tired than usual and find it harder to stay active or keep up with daily tasks. Muscle mass can slowly decrease while body fat may increase, especially around the waist. These physical changes can make everyday activities feel more challenging than before.

Lower testosterone can also affect mood and mental focus. Some men may feel less motivated, more irritable, or have trouble concentrating. Confidence and overall drive can begin to decline as well. Over time, these mental and emotional changes can impact relationships and daily performance.

Sleep patterns can also change, and men may experience more restless nights or feel less refreshed in the morning. These symptoms can build up over time, affecting overall quality of life and well-being. Feeling consistently tired or low in energy can make it harder to enjoy hobbies and social activities.

Supporting Healthier, More Confident Lives

Living a healthier and more confident life after 40 starts with small, consistent habits that support both body and mind. Focusing on natural ways to maintain energy, strength, and mental clarity can make a big difference in long-term well-being.

1. Build Consistent Physical Activity:

You can feel stronger and more energetic by staying active every day. Regular movement helps your muscles stay healthy and keeps your energy levels steady. Even simple activities like walking, swimming, or light exercises can make a big difference in how you feel.

Staying active also helps you feel more confident in your daily life. When your body is strong and healthy, everyday tasks become easier and you notice improvements in your mood and overall well-being. Making movement a regular part of your routine can have long-lasting benefits for both your body and mind.

2. Prioritize Quality Sleep:

You should make getting enough good sleep a priority because it affects your energy, focus, and overall health. When you sleep well, your mind feels clearer and your body has the chance to recover and stay balanced.

Poor sleep can make you feel tired, moody, and less motivated to do everyday tasks. By focusing on quality rest, you can feel more confident, think more clearly, and have the energy to enjoy your day.

3. Focus on Balanced Nutrition:

You can improve your energy and overall health by eating a balanced diet full of nutrient-rich foods. Including vegetables, proteins, healthy fats, and whole foods helps your body work at its best and supports important hormones.

Eating well also helps you feel stronger and more focused throughout the day. When your body gets the nutrients it needs, you notice better energy, improved mood, and a greater sense of well-being.

4. Manage Stress Effectively:

You should pay attention to how you manage stress because it affects both your body and mind. When stress builds up, it can make you feel tired, tense, or unfocused, but taking time to relax or practice simple breathing exercises can help.

Managing stress in healthy ways can improve your mood and mental clarity. By practicing mindfulness or giving yourself quiet moments, you can feel calmer, more focused, and better prepared to handle daily challenges.

5. Engage in Activities That Boost Confidence:

You can boost your confidence by spending time on activities you enjoy or trying something new. Hobbies, learning new skills, or practicing martial arts can help you feel more capable and focused.

Doing these activities regularly builds your self-esteem and mental strength. When you see yourself improving and achieving goals, it gives you a sense of accomplishment that carries over into other areas of your life.

6. Maintain Strong Social Connections:

You should make time for the people who matter to you because strong relationships support your emotional health. Spending time with friends, family, or mentors can make you feel more connected and valued.

Being part of a supportive community also keeps you motivated and gives life more meaning. When you feel supported and understood, it can boost your confidence and overall sense of well-being.

Conclusion

As men move past 40, it is normal to experience changes in energy, strength, and overall health due to declining testosterone levels. These changes can affect both the body and mind, from lower muscle mass and increased fatigue to reduced focus and motivation. Recognizing these natural shifts is the first step in understanding how they impact daily life and long-term well-being.

By being aware of these changes, you can take steps to support your health and confidence as you age. Simple, consistent habits in physical activity, sleep, nutrition, stress management, personal growth, and social connections can help you feel stronger, more energetic, and maintain a better quality of life well into the later years.

FAQs

1. Does body fat affect testosterone production

Higher body fat can lower testosterone because fat cells can convert testosterone into estrogen, which reduces overall levels.

2. Can meditation or mindfulness increase testosterone

While not directly boosting testosterone, mindfulness can reduce stress, which helps prevent stress-related hormone decline.

3. Can staying socially active affect hormone levels

Positive social interactions and reduced isolation can help maintain healthy stress hormones, indirectly supporting testosterone balance.
